Social Studies Reflection My favorite Project
1. Q: Which chapter in World History did you enjoy most this year and why?
A: The chapter in World History I enjoyed the most this year was Ancient Egypt. I liked this chapter because I like learning about mummies and ancient ways to preserve things. Also it was really fun doing the project on Egypt. I did mine on mummies. I also enjoyed learning that some pharos had pyramids for them for when they die. In addition, learning about the different gods they worship was very interesting. We also did a project on hieroglyphics.

2. Q: Describe some of the things that you learned in that chapter.
A: Something I learned is that Egypt was split into classes. Each class had to wear a different hat. Also I learned that some pharos married their own sibling just so royalty could stay in the family. Another thing I learned is that the Rosetta Stone is a stone containing the languages of Greek, Egyptian hieroglyphics, and a form of Egyptian cursive writing. One last thing I learned is the process of mummification (the process of making a mummy) took 70 days.

3. What new skills have you learned throughout the year?
Some new skills that I have learned throughout the year are map skills, how to study without a study guide, how to make an outline, and how to use a Smart Board.

4. How can you apply this knowledge to the real world?
I can apply this knowledge to the real world by being able to make a map I need it for a class. This would apply to map skills. For a test I may need to make an outline for a test just in case I dont get a study guide for it. This would relate to how to study without a study guide and how to make an outline. If I am a fashion designer when I grow up, I may use a Smart Board to display designs and order products. This would relate to how to use a Smart Board.
